A quick post today to let everyone know everything is fine here. Well, that is, as long as you don’t look at my backyard! Two very large trees did not survive and most of the leaves are stripped from my Maples. But it certainly could have been much worse.
I am finally back online!
We lost power for about 18 hours, which is almost unheard of at my house because we are on a major feed into the city. We do have a generator, so we didn’t loose any food in the frig, thankfully. The worst part was loss of our cable and internet. That old saying “You don’t know what you’ve got ‘til its gone” really applied these past couple of days.
Who ever first suggested you should rely on online services should be shot. I was unable to write any blog posts because my research notes are tied to my internet connection. I just recently signed up for a paid Diigo account to help me keep my online research organized. It was working out well until this week. Now, perhaps I will rethink that decision.
Now with the long holiday weekend coming, I plan on relaxing at camp from Friday until Tuesday. This may be my last chance of the year to enjoy camp since the evenings are beginning to get pretty cool for sleeping in the camper. I don’t expect to finish up the Marden family posts until next week at the earliest.
My next project will be the Moulton and Kanistanaux families. I am in hopes of documenting Marleah Moulton Kanistanaux as a grandchild of Metallic. If any of my current readers have any info on the Moulton family of Sherbrook/Lennexville Quebec or the Kanistanaux family of Stockton, NY I would love to hear from you.
